This is book 2 in the Big Pharma series, but there is also a book 0.5 Lotus has written as a prequel, which nicely sets up the series.
For fear of repeating myself, as with book 1 and the prequel, they can be read as stand alone books, they are better read as part of the series, to get the full experience. I found it really hard to put down, with many a night my husband meaning at me to put the book down so that he could go to sleep 🤣. It is nicely balanced between suspense, intrigue and romance. The characters all have depth to them, and the likeable ones are all likeable, and so too, all the dislikeable ones are dislikeable. 🤣It is made all the more relatable having just got through (hopefully) the COVID pandemic. I cannot recommend this book enough and I can’t wait to read book 3 in the series.
I love this series! This is book 2; I’ve also read the prequel and book 1, but this book can stand alone. I do think it would be best appreciated after reading the prequel and book 1, though. There are a lot of family relationships and friendships that progress, but the fascination for me this time is the excitement of saving Jack and perhaps saving many people from the coming secret pandemic, which in this case seems to be a planned pandemic to bring profit to an especially evil pharmaceutical corporation for which Jack worked. Haley and Jack’s relationship is tested in a way few relationships ever are, but it’s obvious to me that with the help of a lot of people, especially their families, they will be fine. I can’t recommend this series enough if you like romantic suspense. I’m eager to read the next book, but I don’t want to leave these characters! I was provided a copy of this book, but these opinions are my own.
This book is full of suspense. I like the many characters and locations all very busy. All involved with either Jacks disappearance or the Pharma. Murder, break-ins, spying and amnesia. Looking forward to the next book.
