A few years ago, I knew I would write a series about big pharma. The idea had been churning around in my brain for a significant period of time. However, I was involved in other projects and life situations. The idea only existed as a line written on a white board in my office:

Traditional Medicine vs. Holistic Medicine vs. Big Pharma

Sounds a little boring, right?

Once we experienced the pandemic, the urgency I felt to write the books became more pronounced. However, the story I originally thought I would write turned out much different. The characters vividly came alive and had their own version to tell. The flavor of the genre switched to something more exciting – a thriller with romantic and conspiratorial undertones.

Some people think the series is solely about the events surrounding 2019/2020. They may even avoid reading it due to this preconception. The “virus” is actually like a train you hear on the tracks in the distance. It doesn’t drive the story – the characters do with their dilemmas and ultimate goals. 

Books 1 and 2 end on a happily for now (HEA). Book three ends with a happily ever after (HEA). The prequel, A Dose of Danger, is a novella that gives great backstory of how Jack and Haley met.
